Shimakaze: aiming and ship study
Shimakaze is a destroyer and has no citadel in the site’s ship data. It is a useful contrast to the cruiser and battleship studies: a central hull hit should not be described as a citadel hit.

Recorded ship configuration
Tier 10 · Japan · Destroyer · Hull B_Hull. These are versioned reference values, not a claim about the latest live game patch or a player’s modified build.
- Base health
- 17,900
- Citadel
- None. Do not target a citadel on this destroyer.
HE main battery: 6 guns, 127 mm; listed maximum shell damage 2,150; recorded reload 5.74 seconds. Maximum shell damage is not expected damage per hit.
AP main battery: 6 guns, 127 mm; listed maximum shell damage 2,200; recorded reload 5.74 seconds. Maximum shell damage is not expected damage per hit.
Where do I aim when the target has no citadel?
This is a main-battery aiming exercise, not a Shimakaze torpedo-build or torpedo-hit simulator. It does not reproduce a full battle, player movement or every damage mechanic.
Try this controlled aiming exercise
- Select Shimakaze as the target in the Ship Damage Trainer. Confirm that the study identifies it as a destroyer without a citadel.
- Compare available hull and superstructure regions, reading the ammunition feedback for each. Do not look for a citadel aim point.
- Rotate the target and change range one setting at a time. Compare the predicted damage type, not just the visible size of the target.
- Switch the firing ship or ammunition and repeat. A larger listed maximum shell damage is not a promise of that damage on a destroyer.
Open the Ship Damage Trainer → Select the ships in its controls. Some guidance requires Pro; this public guide does not unlock paid tools.

Region colors and guidance are estimates within the supported scope. Missing model or armor data must be treated as unavailable, not as a valid damage prediction. See the aiming and citadel guide for the shared method.
